The level of public awareness of the importance of forest protection also plays a role in the increase in fires. In many countries, a lack of understanding of the impacts of forest fires and the importance of forest ecosystems has resulted in a lack of preventive measures. Education about fire risks is very important in mitigation efforts. Forest fires are not only an environmental problem, they also impact human health. Smoke from fires can cause respiratory problems and illness, as well as lead to mass evacuations in affected areas.
